Description:
Common chicory is a bushy perennial herb with blue, lavender, or occasionally white flowers. It often grows wild by roadsides. Other common names include Blue Sailors, Coffeeweed, Succory, Witloof, Belgian Endive, French Endive. Bloom Time: Late Summer; Height: 24” to 36”; Duration: Perennial

Notes:
Sometimes called coffee-weed, this roots of this plants have been ground into "chicory coffee', and is a staple ingredient in the 'red-eyed-gravy' of Cajun cooking in Louisiana. Highly prized for culinary and medicinal purposes alike, the amazing electric blue blooms on this wildflower are also a treat for the gardener's eyes! Despite the fact the flowers close in the afternoon or when it's cloudy, this cheery plant has remained popular among a wide variety of growers. Cannot sell to customers in CO.

Cultivation:
Spacing: 15” to 18”; Light: Full Sun; Soil Moisture: Medium; Germination: No pre-treatment needed. Sow seeds just below soil surface at 70F and water.
