Description: Aconitifolium type. 'Fern Leaf' Japanese maple and should not be confused with Acer palmatum which too is known as 'Japanese maple'. This unusual species is a lovely additions to any landscape with their unique deeply divided large leaves and absolutely brilliant fall colour. Stray breezes moving trought the foliage makes the leaves sway and flutter on thier long leaf stems aptly giving it the horticutural common name of 'Dancing Peacock' maple.
Notes: Cut test gives a 85% cut test.
Cultivation: Seed kept in cool moist sand until ready to ship. Soak seed in tepid water 12-24 hours. Sow 6 mm deep; tamp soil. Cold strafify for 60-120 days. Expose seed to spring conditions to promote germination. Exposure to direct light not critical. Protect seed/seedlings from varmits. I prick out seedlings when dormant and grow in pots for first 2-3 years.
