Aquilegia vulgaris plena 'Double Pink' |
Origin: Queen Charlotte Island collected Zone Range: 5-8 Preferred Situation: Full to semi sun; well draining deep evenly moist soil. Harvest Date: Friday 01 September, 2006
Description: A tall gracefull plant to 120 cm tall and makes a sizeable clump. Double delicate pink blooms with creamy tips.
Notes: Of the thousands of Aquieligia species and hybrid cultivar, this one is obviously named and possibly an antique. Over the years I've noticed the double form is dominant over the single flowered form so the resulting seedlings will more than likely bear double flowers.
Cultivation: Soak seed 24 hours; fold in moist paper towel or coffee filter and place in pastic bag. Chill seed 5 days remove from paper. Press seed into medium. Keep moist, plastic cover improves success. Opt. germination temp: 21-27 C. Days to germ: 25-30. Needs darkness to germinate.
