Description:
This deer proof old fashioned flower forms great basal clumps of soft semi evergreen heart-shaped leaves. In May, flowering stalks emerge to reach over 1 meter in height. Dense whorls of soft yellow nectar filled flowers gather at the stem nodes that open in succession, so it can in flower until September and keep the nectar seekers happy. Easy to grow. Tough plant with very few if any problems with pests and disease. Blooms in its second year. Dried seed stems can be used in dry arrangements.

Notes:
Drought tolerant when established.

Cultivation:
Easy. Soak seed 24 hours. Sow 6 mm deep in well draining moist medium. Germinate at 18-22 C. Should sprout in 1-3 weeks. Deep roots so use appropriate sized container.
