Notes: This fern is the source of 'fiddleheads', a vegetable delicacy available fresh for only a brief time each spring, but for gourmets who know their delights, well worth the wait.
Cultivation: For details on starting ferns from spore, click here to read more. Sow spores at 15 degrees Celsius when ripe. Grow in humusy, moist but well-drained slightly acidic soil in partial shade. For maximum freshness, please keep fern spore refrigerated in its original packaging until it is time to plant.
