Description: Bushy, mound-forming evergreen shrub with obovate, white-hairy dark-green leaves 3 inches long. in summer and autumn, produces loose, terminal panicles of bright yellow flowerheads, 1-1/4 inches across, with conspicuous ray florets. Height to 5 feet; spread 6 feet. Brachyglottis 'Sunshine' has elliptic, white-hairy leaves with shallowly scalloped margins. Suits a shrub border; thrives in coastal areas. Tolerates pruning and can be used as a low hedge or groundcover. Drought-tolerant.
Cultivation: For maximum freshness, please keep seed refrigerated in its original packaging until it is time to plant. Best sown on the surface of a freely draining compost in the greenhouse as soon as it is ripe. Stored seed can be surface sown in the greenhouse in early spring. Do not allow the compost to dry out. When they are large enough to handle, prick the seedlings out into individual pots and grow them on in the greenhouse for at least their first winter. Plant them out into their permanent positions in late spring or early summer, after the last expected frosts. Grow in well-drained soil in full sun.
