This conical to columnar pine has blue-green needles and scaly purplish-brown bark. The red-brown female cones are oblong and about 3 inches long. Height 30 feet; spread 20 feet.

These seeds have been collected from specimens in the glauca group, noted for their blue-green needles and superb form. Tends to come true from seed. Well suited to bonsai.

Sow seed in autumn in containers outdoors. For spring sowings, the seed should be stratified: Place in sterile damp sand and refrigerate for up to 6 weeks. Check for spouting after the fourth week. Plant seeds, or sprouted seeds, in sterile potting medium and grow on in a sheltered location for the first year. Grow in any moist well-drained soil in full sun. For maximum freshness, please keep seed refrigerated in its original packaging until it is time to plant.
