For maximum freshness, please keep seed refrigerated in its original packaging until it is time to plant. Seed may be sown in place at almost any time of year, as long as the soil is relatively moist and in semi to fairly deep shade. Or you may sow seed initially in containers in a cold frame. Grow in moist, fertile humusy soil in partial shade.
