Description:
Deciduous perennial with arching, linear to strap-shaped blue-green leaves. Produces erect spike-like racemes of red-tipped orange flowers, yellow at the bases, in early and midautumn. The flowers are attractive to bees. Height 18 inches; spread 12 inches. Use for late season accent in a herbaceous border.

Cultivation:
For maximum freshness, please keep seed refrigerated in its original packaging until it is time to plant. Sow seed in containers in a cold frame in spring. Grow in deep, fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil in full sun. Prefers sandy soil. Promptly remove spent flower spikes. Mulch young plants with straw or leaves the first winter.
