Deciduous perennial with arching, linear to strap-shaped blue-green leaves. Produces erect spike-like racemes of red-tipped orange flowers, yellow at the bases, in early and midautumn. The flowers are attractive to bees. Height 18 inches; spread 12 inches. Use for late season accent in a herbaceous border.
