This woody-based evergreen perennial produces racemes of tubular scarlet flowers over long periods in late summer and early fall. Height 12 inches; spread 20 inches. Attractive to hummingbirds.

Use 1 part compost to 1 part coarse horticultural sand mixture in containers. Cover seed with horticultural sand. Germination takes 1 to 6 months.
