This small, round-headed deciduous tree has ovate leaves that are gray and hairy when young, turning yellow to red in autumn. Bears pendent racemes of fragrant white flowers in midspring, followed by red-purple fruit up to 1/2 inch in diameter. Height and spread is 25 feet.

For maximum freshness, please keep seed refrigerated in its original packaging until it is time to plant. Sow seeds in a seedbed as soon as ripe. Grow in acidic, fertile and moist but well-drained soil in sun or part-shade.
