This clump-forming perennial has large, kidney-shaped toothed leaves, which are heart-shaped at their bases. Bears many corymbs of yellow-orange flowerheads with reddish-brown centers in mid to late summer. Height 3 feet; spread 2 feet. Makes an excellent waterside plant.
Sow seed in containers in the spring or fall. Keep containers in a sheltered area or coldframe. Grow on in moderately-fertile, reliably moist garden soil with adequate drainage. For maximum freshness, please keep seed refrigerated in its original packaging until it is time to plant.
