Arisaema consanguineum
Arisaema consanguineum
Native Region: Eastern Himalayas to central China
Zone Range: 7-9
Preferred Climate: temperate
Harvest Date: Sunday 05 October, 2014
Seed count: 12-15

This tuberous perennial bears a hooded, white/brown striped spathe up to 8 inches long in summer, followed by a cluster of red berries. Height to 3 feet.

For maximum freshness, please keep seed refrigerated in its original packaging until it is time to plant. Seed must be carefully scarified with an emery board or sandpaper, then soaked for 24 hours in pure fresh water. During this time the seed should swell slightly, which is a clear indication that it is ready to plant. Treated seed should then be planted in seedling containers, one to three seeds per pot, and placed in a cold frame or outdoors in a sheltered location. Plants should be grown in a woodland setting with ample moisture on well drained soil that is fairly rich in organic material.

Harvest Date: Sunday 05 October, 2014
