Lunaria annua |
Native Region: Central to Southern Europe Zone Range: 05-09 Preferred Climate: Widely adapted to many climates Harvest Date: Tuesday 07 October, 2008 Seed count: 40-50
Description: This plant, usually an annual but occasionally biennial, is attractive enough in bloom, but the tall 1m (3ft) stems and seedpods, when dried and separated, look very much like wispy silver dollar trees. This delightful trait has given rise to many of the plant’s common names. An old fashioned favourite and excellent for dried arrangements.
Cultivation: Sow seed in spring in situ. Protect seeds and seedlings from birds. For maximum freshness, please keep seed refrigerated in its original packaging until it is time to plant.
