Ampelopsis megalophylla

Native Region: Western China
Zone Range: 05-09
Preferred Climate: Cool to hot temperate
Harvest Date: Sunday 11 October, 2009
Seed count: 25-30

Description:
The small green flowers in summer are soon followed by rose-red berries that ripen to black in the fall. This vigorous but delicate looking vine, with it's large bipinate leaves, is attractive when grown over large pergolas and arbours.

Cultivation:
Sow seed in autumn, or stratify in sand in the spring. To stratify; use a clean container with clean damp sand, place seed on the surface and cover with a thin 1cm(½in) of additional damp sand. Refrigerate for six weeks. Seed may then be sown in containers in a cool greenhouse or coldframe. Grow on in moist, well drained, moderately fertile soil. For maximum freshness, please keep seed refrigerated in its original packaging until it is time to plant.

Harvest Date: Sunday 11 October, 2009
