Native Region: Middle East – Lebanon to Turkey Zone Range: 06-09 Preferred Climate: Cool to hot temperate Harvest Date: Sunday 03 December, 2006 Seed count: 20-25
Description: This is the legendary tree known to humanity for millennia. Individual specimens in the wild may exceed 1000 years of age. In youth these trees are distinctly conical in shape, but as they reach their first century, they tend to form broad crowns and take on a beautiful tiered form. Suitable for Bonsai culture.
Cultivation: For maximum freshness, please keep seed refrigerated in its original packaging until it is time to plant. Seed should be sown in spring after cold stratification of 21 days moist pre-chilling at 0-1 degree Celsius. Grow in a sunny open site in average well-drained soil. If double leaders are eventually produced, the weaker shoot should be pruned out in the fall.
