ca$ 3.45
Seed count: 50-60
Allium fistulosum
Allium fistulosum

Native Region: This species is not found in the wild
Zone Range: 04-09
Preferred Climate: Suited to a wide range of conditions
Harvest Date: Tuesday 26 July, 2011
Seed count: 50-60

Description:
This is an interesting example of a species that appears to have vanished from the wild, or perhaps it has evolved in cultivation over the millennia from a wild species into new one found only in cultivation. As the common names suggest, this onion has enjoyed a long history in the culinary traditions of many nations; however, this plant has an attractive, almost architectural look about it that can add an interesting note to the modern flower garden as well.

Cultivation:
Sow seed in containers in a coldframe in spring. Grow in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. For maximum freshness, please keep seed refrigerated in its original packaging until it is time to plant.

Harvest Date: Tuesday 26 July, 2011
