Description: A slowly creeping rhizomatous perennial that produces long stalked glossy green leaves, with 5 to 9 distinct lobes. Each stalk generaly has two leaves and a single 9 petalled flower in the forked stalk. The fruit, which ripens to a yellow-green pomme 2.5-5cm(1-2in) in length, is edible. To 50cm (18in) in height.

Cultivation: For maximum freshness, please keep seed refrigerated in its original packaging until it is time to plant. Sow seed in autumn, or stratify in sand in the spring. To stratify: Use a clean container with clean damp sand; place seed on the surface and cover with a thin 1cm(½ inch) of additional damp sand. Refrigerate for six weeks. Seed may then be sown in containers in a cool greenhouse or coldframe. Grow on in moist, well drained, humusy soil in part to full shade.
