Gentiana tibetica
Native Region: Himalayas, Tibet
Zone Range: 07-09
Preferred Climate: Alpine
Harvest Date: Tuesday 16 October, 2012
Seed count: 75-100

Description:
This woodland perennial gentian has dark green leaves with cream-coloured flower clusters on thick stalks in late summer. 24 ” high x 18” spread.

Notes:
Rarely found in cultivation.

Cultivation:
For maximum freshness, please keep seed refrigerated in its original packaging until it is time to plant. Sow seed in containers in a cold frame as soon as your seed order arrives. Use container mix of 2 parts compost to 1 part coarse horticultural sand. Cover seed lightly with horticultural sand. Do not exclude light as this aids germination, which can take around six weeks. If the seeds do not come up within 6 to 12 weeks, the damp seed tray can be given cold treatment in a fridge for about four weeks. Grow on in soil that is well drained in a rock garden or alpine scree.

Harvest Date: Tuesday 16 October, 2012
