Description:
Tufted hairy perennial reaching 12 inches tall from short, thick woody rhizomes. It has ternate leaves, with leathery leaflets, woolly below and coarsely toothed on the upper half. Produces open, 5-petalled yellow flowers from July to September. Attracts beneficial insects such as hover flies and parasitic mini-wasps. Suitable for alpine or rock gardens.

Cultivation:
For maximum freshness, please keep seed refrigerated in its original packaging until it is time to plant. Sow seed in autumn into pots using standard soil-less seed compost, either peat or peat substitute. Cover with perlite or vermiculite and place in a cold frame. Germination takes 1-6 months. OR Sow seed in spring into pots using standard soil-less seed compost, either peat or peat substitute. Cover with perlite or vermiculite and place under protection at 20 degrees Celsius. Germination takes 6-10 days.Grow in poor, gritty, sharply-drained soil in full sun.
