Dark green glossy leaves emerge in winter and persist until late spring. When the leaves are finished the greenish-white flower spathes emerge. By late summer they develop bright red to orange berries, which may persist until the next crop of leaves arise in late autumn. Height 12 inches.
For maximum freshness, please keep seed refrigerated in its original packaging until it is time to plant. Soak seed in pure clean water for 24-36 hours before planting. Sow seeds in autumn in containers in a coldframe, or other sheltered location. These tuberous perennials require moderately rich, well-drained soil. Excellent for a lightly shaded woodland garden.
