Rhizomatous evergreen perennial which forms clumps of 5-lobed, toothed, wrinkled light green basal leaves. Produces erect trumpet-shaped bright pink flowers 1-1/2 inches across with a silvery sheen and notched petals. Flowering period is from early summer to early autumn. Height 18 inches; spread 24 inches. This is a great groundcover or filler plant in the border.

Sow in spring into pots using standard soil-less seed compost, either peat or peat substitute. Cover with perlite or vermiculite, place under protection at 15 degrees Celsius. Germination takes 10-14 days. Overwinter young plants in a cold frame. Grow in any moderately-fertile, well-drained soil in full sun or part shade. Cut back hard in mid-summer to encourage fresh new foliage and another flush of flowers.
