Description:
This tufted perennial grass has mid-green linear leaves and bears purple spikelets with densely flowered tips in summer. Height 2-5 feet; spread 32 inches.

Cultivation:
Sow seed in containers in a coldframe in spring or autumn. Seed may be sown <i><b>in situ</b></i>, but there is always the problem with birds eating the seeds before they grow.
