Description: Upright shrub with glossy dark green leaves bears single red flowers in winter and early spring. Height 10 feet; spread 3 feet.
Cultivation: For maximum freshness, please keep seed refrigerated in its original packaging until it is time to plant. Sow seed in autumn into pots or modules using standard ericaceous seed compost. Cover with perlite or vermiculite, place in a cold. frame. Germination takes 2-6 months. Keep young plants in a cold frame for their first year. Grow in well-drained neutral to acidic soil in part shade, preferably sheltered from strong winds.
