This rhizomatous perennial has 5-lobed green leaves with purple markings which emerge after the flowers. Flowers are solitary, cup-shaped white or pale pink with yellow anthers and appear in late spring to midsummer, followed by ovoid fleshy red fruit. Height 18 inches; spread 12 inches.
For maximum freshness, please keep seed refrigerated in its original packaging until it is time to plant. Sow seed in an open frame as soon as ripe. Grow in humusy, leafy moist soil in full or partial shade. Divide in spring or late summer every few years.
