Native Region: Chilean grasslands
Zone Range: 8-11

Description:
This herbaceous, perennial plant produces a cluster of upright stems to 90cm tall from an underground, tuberous rootstock and forms a large clump in time. The lily-like flowers in colours from red, purple, orange to pink, are frequently used in floral arrangements, where the long vase-life is highly prized.

Cultivation:
For maximum freshness, please keep seed refrigerated in its original packaging until it is time to plant. Sow seeds in individual pots in a cold frame. Pre-soak stored seed for 12 hrs in warm water, warm stratify for 4 weeks at 25C and then reduce the temperature to 10C. Plant out seedlings into their permanent positions in late summer or autumn. Grow in moist but well-drained, fertile soil in full sun or part shade. Protect with a dry mulch in winter.
