Sprays of small white flowers in late spring are followed by berries in shades of blue purple and mauve, all on the same evergreen shrub. 1-3 feet high and 4 feet wide.
For maximum freshness, please keep the berries refrigerated in their original packaging until it is time to plant. Sow seed in containers in a cold frame in early to mid spring. Mix the seeds with a small quantity of sterilized sand (a tablespoon or so) and sprinkle the mixture onto lightly firmed starter mix in clean clay pots. Keep evenly moist, but not damp. Grow in acidic to neutral, peaty moist soil in partial shade.
