Description:
This evergreen perennial has cylindrical stems with leaves, when present, reduced to brown basal sheaths. Bears small green or brown flowers in cymes in midsummer. Suits a pond side or bog garden. Height 3-4 feet.
Cultivation: For maximum freshness, please keep seed refrigerated in its original packaging until it is time to plant. Surface sow very fine seed at 6-12 degrees Celsius on pots of wet soil with a fairly high peat moss content in spring. Do not allow seed or seedlings to dry out. Grow in permanently moist, acidic soil in sun or part shade.
