Description:
This small, upright deciduous tree has glossy dark green leaves that turn red in fall. Bears cup-shaped fragrant white flowers with yellow stamens in late summer. Suits a woodland garden. Height and spread is 15 feet.

This genus of one species from Georgia, United States is thought to be extinct in the wild.
Cultivation:
For maximum freshness, please keep seed refrigerated in its original packaging until it is time to plant. Sow seed as soon as ripe at 10-18 degrees Celsius. The seeds benefit from cold stratification, which is done by placing them in a slightly moist peat moss or peaty soil mix, and refrigerating for a month to 6 weeks prior to sowing them. This simulates a cool winter dormant period. Grow in humusy, moist but well-drained acidic soil in full sun.
