Description:
This evergreen perennial has spiny-toothed green leaves up to 3 feet long and bears whitish-green flowers with spine-tipped bracts on arching stems in late summer. Height to 5 feet; spread 2 feet.
Cultivation: For maximum freshness, please keep seed refrigerated in its original packaging until it is time to plant. Sow seed as soon as ripe in containers in a cold frame. Use a container mix of 1 part compost to 1 part coarse horticultural sand. Cover with horticultural sand. Germination takes two to three months. Grow in moist, well-drained fertile soil in full sun.
