This perennial has a fibrous rootstock, deeply lobed and divided, round to oval leaves and bears solitary, single white flowers with golden yellow stamens in late spring. Height and spread is 12 to 20 inches.
Keep seed refrigerated until ready to plant. Sow seed in containers in a cold frame when ripe. Germination may be slow and erratic. Grow in moist but well-drained humusy soil in sun to part shade.
