Description:
One of the most beautiful native trees of the North American Pacific Coast. A broadleaved evergreen tree with white flowers in the spring and small orange fruit in the autumn. The rich red-ochre coloured bark peels off in sheets during the growing season revealing the smooth new tan coloured bark in summer.Height and spread up to 50 feet.
Cultivation: For maximum freshness, please keep seed refrigerated in its original packaging until it is time to plant. Sow seed in containers in a cold frame in autumn. Grow in sharply drained soil, preferably on a slope, in full sun. Avoid any root disturbance while transplanting young seedlings. Plant in their final growing position where their roots will not be disturbed.
