Native Region: Mediterranean Zone Range: 06-09 Preferred Climate: Temperate Harvest Date: Tuesday 19 October, 2021 Seed count: 12-15
Description:
A spreading, often multi-stemmed deciduous tree with heart-shaped blue-green leaves, bronze when young. Clusters of magenta flowers are borne in spring both before and with the emerging leaves. Height and spread is 30 feet.
Cultivation: For maximum freshness, please keep seed refrigerated in its original packaging until it is time to plant. Sow seed in containers in a cold frame in autumn. Grow in fertile, deep, moist but well-drained, preferably loamy soil in full sun or dappled shade. Plant in its final location when young, as older plants dislike transplanting.
