Description:
This bulbous perennial species can be taller than the closely related Camassia quamash, reaching heights of 1.4m (50in), and bears white star-shaped flowers. It also tends to be slightly hardier and better suited to colder conditions.
Cultivation: For maximum freshness, keep seed refrigerated in its original packaging until time to plant. Sow seed in fall into pots, cover with a thin layer of coarse sand and place in a cold frame. For spring sowings, soak seed in water, then place in pots, cover with a thin layer of coarse sand, and refrigerate for 4-6 weeks. Move pots to a cool sheltered location with bright indirect light to complete germination. Grow in a sunny location.
