Description:
This erect perennial has palmate, green, finely-lobed leaflets and bears single, solitary red, blue or white flowers in spring. Height 12-18 inches; spread 6 inches. Winter-flowering in the wild, and the basis of many cultivars.
Cultivation: For maximum freshness, please keep seed refrigerated in its original packaging until it is time to plant. Sow seeds in containers in a cold frame in spring. Use sand to rub the hairs off the woolly-coated seeds. Grow in light, sandy soil in full sun. Ensure a dry dormancy period after flowering.
